Adventure Trail Challenge (ATC) is an annual adventure race proudly brought to you by NTU Outdoor Adventure Club. This nation-wide event is into its 7th year since NTU ODAC made a virgin attempt in 2004.
ATC is a time-based, sub-urban adventure race. Participants will not merely be facing physical challenges, even though speed and stamina are the key factors. The element of teamwork combined with human qualities such as patience and determination are also crucial.
This race is aimed towards fostering bonds and team spirit among teammates through challenging obstacles such as trail-running, trail-cycling, high rope elements, kayaking, river crossing. This promotes team building, character development and public interest in sports.
Adventure racing is the one of the fastest growing team sport in the world and it is rapidly gaining popularity in Asia. Our aim is to introduce adventure racing to both the tertiary population as well as to the public in Singapore, and also to develop an adventure sports community.
Indeed, the race enriches all participants mentally and physically. It allows them to be more aware of their own strengths and weaknesses by putting them through tests of their physical and mental abilities. It is also a rare chance for them to get close to nature and be aware of lesser known parts of Singapore, which they seldom get in touch with in this modern urban city.
All in all, the aim of the event is to promote adventure sports; provide an avenue for adventure seekers to build teamwork and cohesiveness among teammates from within NTU as well as with various invited external bodies. It is also an opportunity for NTU population to get connected with the public.
