NTU ODAC Freshmen Overseas Orientation Camp (F.O.O.T) has always been the beginning of a journey of fun-filled adventure and friends-based experience for most ODAC-ians in NTU ODAC, and F.O.O.T ‘09 has been no exception this work year.
Foot Comm began this great work year with an interesting gender ratio of 10 Ladies to 5 Hunks, much to the surprise of many in the club. However, each proves their worth in their programming skills, cycling leading and trek leading, much less not the hardworking Logistics who are always on standby for all events.
The orientation started out on a high spirit in NTU, where freshmen get to go through a series of stations in various areas in school, knowing more of NTU in the process. Night cycling was also a challenge and new experience for many as freshmen cycled through Lim Chu Kang cemeteries and walk through Sungei Buloh nature reserves.
For the camp’s most exciting segment, F.O.O.T ‘09 is also proud to bring back Sg.Pelepah, Johor Bahru, Malaysia as our campsite this year, after Endau Rompin,Kuantan in F.O.O.T ’08. Being a traditional campsite in NTU ODAC’s history, many seniors were excited and sentimental to go back to a campsite which they have not set foot on for 2 years. Freshmen were treated to a very challenging trek consisting of vertical climbs and V-gorge passing, a lucky few even got to be bitten by a leech for the first time! There were many friendship found and grown during the campfire, where seniors, freshmen, and even alumni sat together for an unforgettable “Wah Lao” Skit, “Ms Pelepah” and the Ra-Ra “Cheer Fight” program which made the otherwise silent forest filled with life.
F.O.O.T ’09 would like to give our thanks to all Main Commers and Sub-Commers for their time and effort in making a success. Credits also goes to our CGLs, Esther and Jason, for leading a great bunch of fun-loving and HUAT GLs Team to give a great experience for everyone. Lastly, not forgetting Foot Commers who put in time and effort in numerous meetings and recces to make F.O.O.T ’09 a true success.
THANKS EVERYONE !!!
